Features and Benefits
Taper files are triangular and designed for filing a variety of saws. The file has cut edges for filing gullets between saw teeth.
Bastard cut files are the coarsest files and have the fewest teeth per inch. They are used for heavy stock removal.
Single cut files consist of one set of parallel, diagonal teeth extended across the face of the file. They are used for sharpening or to produce a smooth finish.
A tang is the tapered end of the file that can either be used to hold the file or inserted it into an optional handle.
